Day at the Park

Jeremy had his 10 year high school reunion this week. We went to a picnic dinner at a park and met up with some people he hadn't seen in 10 years. It was fun to get to meet some of his friends from High School. It was still awkward for me though. I think it was even a little awkward for Jeremy at times as people who would remember him and say hello, and he couldn't remember who they were. I think he was slightly dissappointed that more of his close friends didn't show up. There were a few that did however, and that made the reunion worth going for.

Jeremy started school again this week. I have such mixed feelings. He'll be more busy again, which means less time with us. But that also means we're one more semester closer to graduation. We've had some more frustrations arise with UVU changing when classes are offered. We were all mapped out to graduation until I started looking ahead and realized classes were no longer offered certain semesters. Luckily, after pondering our dilemma for a day, I was able to think up of a solution so that we can still graduate the semester we originally planned. To celebrate his last day of "freedom," we decided to take Clara to her first outing at the Park. She enjoyed the slides if Mom or Dad were going down with her.But if she were on her own, she really didn't like it.Boy is she glad to be off those slides! Oh yeah, Clara started walking while holding on to our fingers this week. She now prefers that to crawling. I can't believe how quickly the changes are coming now. When she was little, it would be weeks between new developments. Now she can't seem to learn new things fast enough. After the slides we took her to the swings. At first, she wasn't too sure about them. She soon found that she loved them though.I was putting something away in Clara's room the other day while she was sleeping. When I walked in, I found this. After laughing and giggeling for a little while, I got worried about her suffocating, so I pulled the blanket off. This last picture is of Addi, the little girl I baby sit. She is 3 months old now and is changing fast herself. Thanks Keri for letting me watch your little girl. I love it.

Daddy's little helper

I was sick this week, so Jeremy stepped in and did a lot of house work for me. Clara loved helping her daddy. Sorry this picture is fuzzy, she just keeps herself busy. She started out to the left of Jeremy, trying to see what he was doing. By the time I got the camera, Clara had moved, and was still moving when I was trying to get a picture. Oh well.I was the first person to get sick this week, then Clara got it, then Jeremy. Boy are we all glad we are feeling better. Clara didn't go outside for days, so when she finally got to again, she loved it. Our neighbor girl was kind enough to let Clara borrow her car. Clara was in heaven and Rachel just was glad to get to be in some pictures.I can't believe how fast Clara is growing. She was playing in the car just like a little girl would. There are times I look at Clara and just see a little girl who is no longer a baby. She is already figuring out how things work. She now tries to put the lid on her sippy cup when she is done. She also tries to put her stacker cups in each other instead of just pulling them out. I love you Clara!

Logan

This last Saturday Jeremy and I went to Logan to visit some friends of ours who are living there for the summer. We went to a lake and had a blast. Clara and their little boy, James, loved the water.Unfortunately, Jeremy ended up losing his glasses. They are now somewhere in all the moss that is at the bottom of the lake. When he got home, he dug out the pair of glasses he had while we were dating. He says that they work great, and so thankfully we don't have to invest in a new pair of glasses. I've always loved those glasses, so I'm glad he gets to wear them again. I've included a picture of us from when we were dating so that you can see the old spectacles and know what he's sporting on his face now. This last picture is of our friends. Thanks Jeff and Emily for letting us come play with you for a day! You were great hosts.

YW Activity

This weeks young women activity was a great experience. We went to the Relief Society building and got a tour. My sister-in-law arranged for us to visit the offices of the General Young Women Presidency and General Relief Society Presidency, something that is not usually part of the tour. The girls had a wonderful time. All of them had their suspicions at first, but they ended up loving the tour. It was a great experience for us all. After we toured the Relief Society building, we visited the grave of President Gordon B. Hinckley. We had a wonderful day. Also this week, Clara turned 10 months old. The things she has learned to do this week is clap and keep her balance for a few seconds when she lets go of the furniture she used to pull herself up to standing.I love you little Clara. You keep growing way too fast.

Tribute to Dads

Jeremy and I recently got a new scanner. To try it out, we scanned some pictures of my dad that I've been wanting electronic files of for a long time now. The pictures are old and so they themselves weren't the greatest quality. But I'm glad I have them on the computer now. As I was thinking about it, I had to post them on the blog.

This first one was taken during High School. Dad was a school bus driver and would often drive over the weekends to take the high school groups to compete. Dad would always take the one that his kids were on. So we were lucky enough to always have a parent support us in our away games. This was one of those events. This was taken my Junior year at State Speech and Drama. It is my favorite picture of Dad and I.This next one is the last picture ever taken of my dad and I, at least to my knowledge. It was taken at my oldest brothers wedding reception 11 months before he passed away. I was crying at the time so I didn't want to look at the camera. Oh how I wish I did now.I came home this week and found this when I walked in the door. I had to include it in my tributes to Dads blog.

Arizona Trip

Jeremy's family had a family reunion in AZ this last weekend. It was a fun to see so many of his cousins that we just don't get to see that often. We had a lot of fun, even though we were camping in the AZ heat. Unfortunately we didn't get a lot of pictures of people outside our family. Oh well. Maybe next year.We were in a place called Show Low. It got its name from a game of cards that the players were gambling for land. The guy who won had the lowest card when asked to "show low". He then decided to name the land Show Low. This a picture of Jeremy and Clara playing cards with those guys.Keri and Jon gave us this cute onsie. Thanks guys, we love it. In case you can't read it, it says "Bald is Beautiful."We were able to get a picture of Clara with a 2nd cousin of hers that is 20 days younger than her. They had a fun time together. Thanks Lance for being such a fun playmate.
