My Birthday

Jackson's birthday present to me was walking.  Jackson took his first steps over a month ago, but has refused to take more than two or three steps at a time.  Then on Tuesday, June 21, he decided to just take off.  By the end of the day, he was walking more than crawling.
We also got to spend time with our wonderful friends, the Johnson's.  We all headed to the Lehi Firestation for a tour.  The Firefighters were soooo nice to our little boys.  And I was relieved that Clara could answer almost all of their safety questions.
For my actual birthday, John and Sharon came down and watched the kids for us so Jeremy and I could go to dinner and a concert.  We ate at Chili's and then headed to a Boston concert where Dennis DeYoung was the opening act. Dennis DeYoung was my favorite part.  I knew almost every single song he played, he is a great entertainer, and still has an amazing voice!  The Boston part was a little boring.  I only knew 3 songs that they played, and their sound was off, so their voices were muffled.  Basically I listened to music only for an hour and half since they just stood up and sang songs.  They didn't really interact with the crowd either.  Oh well, it was sure nice spending so much time with Jeremy on my birthday!
When we got home that night, Sharon let us know that Joe insisted on sleeping in the hallway.  What a silly boy!

Zachreson Family Reunion

We headed to Rexburg this past weekend for my family reunion.  All of my siblings and Mom made it this year! We stayed at my brother's house and Clara LOVED playing with the Tinker Toys.
We headed to Jefferson County Lake on Friday.  Our kids loved playing with all the rocks as well as the water.  We had so many rock piles, rock castles, and rock designs!  The water was a little chilly for them, but they played in it anyway.

After the lake, Jeremy and I decided to head to the Filo T Farnsworth museum so that we could see more about the invention of the television.  Turns out that the museum was both a  history of Rigby and Filo T Farnsworth.  They really didn't have a lot of the TV stuff, so were were disappointed, but they did have some other pretty cool things there.
Check out the flavors of these Jello boxes:
We ended the night by having s'mores at my sister's house.  Jackson LOVED the dogs!  He was obsessed by touching their tongues!  Gross!
Our kids were exhausted by the time we got them to bed.  They fell asleep as soon as their heads hit their pillows.
The next day we got to watch the Rexburg air show, then headed over to my sister's for some pony rides.
Next came bowling.  It was a first for both Joe and Clara.
We ended the night by heading to BYU-I campus for a private show at the Planetarium.  One of the perks of having a brother that works at BYU-I as a physics professor.

Saying Good-bye

Our back yard neighbors are moving to Alaska! It will take them 19 days to get there with all their stuff!  Before they left, they had a good-bye party at Momentum Climbing.  We had so much fun learning to climb and do cool things.  And we will miss our neighbors terribly!

Kathryn's Visit

My sister, Kathryn, stopped in for a few days as she was driving from AZ to ID.  We had so much fun with her 6 kids!  One of the days, we decided to head up Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls. The kids loved being able to get in the water and splash around.
Issac even caught a water snake and the kids all took turns holding it before he released it back where he found it.
Just before they arrived, we had a gopher move into our flower bed.  4 days and 15+ holes later, we finally got rid of him!
And our little princess finally figured out the key to waiting to eat on a Fast Sunday: Napping!
I love that she fell asleep with her legs in the air in true princess style.

Also while Kathryn was here, she listened to Clara complain about me making her ride a bike.  Kathryn suggested that Clara try riding her bike on a grassy hill.  Clara mastered the grassy hill her first ride down.  Then after about 3 rides down, she was confident enough to ride on a sidewalk! I'm so proud of Clara!

Pony Express Days

We skipped our City's Celebrations last year, and the kids were so disappointed.  I made sure to get tickets well in advance, Jeremy got off work extra early, and we spent the entire evening at the carnival.  There were hardly any people there, so we loved the no lines and the kids got to go from one ride to the next.
We also walked around the booths and the kids got balloons, candy, and Jeremy entered a lot of raffles, but never won anything.
Clara even got her face painted.
And our little Jackson was surprisingly happy just hanging out in the stroller all evening.
Our kid's favorite rides was the one that Dad got to go on with them.
I'm so glad our kids have fond memories of family time!
